MP3 Player Saves Two Missing Skiers

Two wayward skiers were rescued from the freezing night temperatures of the Swiss Alps yesterday. REGA, the Swiss air-rescue association, said that it received a cell phone call for help from two men, both French citizens, who had gotten lost while skiing.
The lost skiers kept in touch with their rescuers until the batteries in their cell phone ran down. With the temperatures dropping, and no way to contact anyone, the men settled down for the night as best they could.
One man had an MP3 player. Luckily for the men, the MP3 player would light up when used. It gave off enough light to signal to a passing helicopter rescue crew. Both skiers were rescued shortly after midnight and suffered no frostbite.
Thank God that those gentlemen had the foresight to equip their MP3 player with better batteries than their phone.
There is no truth to the rumor that the rescue crew waited until the men finished playing a Vanilla Ice song.
